Hi folks,
Well yesterday was a poor day of trading.
Firstly the Celtic game was called off so I could not trade on that game. I traded on the world cup cricket final but hedged out for a loss of £8.03 when I could of won about £12 if I could of stayed in.
Then I traded on the West Ham Vs Man Utd game. I laid under 2.5 goals as the stats suggested there are always goals in this game. After the first 10 minutes I was out for a £13.65 profit. However, I did make a mistake in this game, and it is an important point to consider for future games. I laid West Ham from the beginning, as vidic was back and I just could not see them scoring, at least first. Also Man Utd had won the last 6 matches against West Ham. However, I forgot one important point, Man Utd have a champions league game against Chelsea on Wednesday. I have been stung by this in the past, were weak teams are fielded or players are just not up for the game as much. West Ham scored a penalty, however Man Utd did look dangerous and had won a lot of corners, so I stayed in and laid West Ham again. Then West Ham scored again, and I had to hedge out of the match market for £40 loss. However, I did not panic and this is were I waited and regrouped at half-time. I thought there would be more goals in the game so I laid the half-time score and managed when Man Utd scored I made £9.50. At this point Man Utd were all over West Ham, so I laid the 2-1 current score and also backed the draw. Then Man Utd scored again and I won another £9.50 and also hedged out of the draw and managed to reduce the £40 loss on the match market to £12 loss.
So overall I won about £21.04. So overall that was good.
However, then I traded on the Arsenal Vs Blackburn game as Arsenal have a great record at home and against Blackburn. Again normally this fixture has a lot of goals so I laid under 2.5 goals. I normally hedge out after about 35 mins if it is still 0-0, and I did that for a £24 loss. That in itself was not the mistake. The mistake was also laying the draw at the beginning of the game were the odds were 6.7. I normally have a limit of 5.0, but I was certain Arsenal would win, big mistake and I ended up hedging out for about £45 loss. Stupidly I then laid the 0-0 with 15 mins to go as Arsenal do score a lot of late goals, and ending up losing another £10.
I traded briefly on the Milan derby as when Inter Milan got a man sent off I laid the current score and managed to make another £19.
So overall, I lost £59.68 for the day. Not catastrophic, but I lost my discipline in the Arsenal game and that cost me a profit for the day, or at least only a small loss. Just thought I would share my thoughts with you.
One good point to remember, if there is a Champions league game coming up, be careful. Also the game after the Champions league can be tricky too. The same sometimes applies to games after internationals.
Happy Trading
