Not a bad start.

Hi folks,

Well today was my initiation into the world of pre-horse trading. It was frustrating, but it was not disastrous.

Race 1:- -£0.02
Race 2:- -£0.89
Race 3:- +£0.04
Race 4:- +£0.10
Race 5:- +£0.01
Race 6:- -£0.18
Race 7:- -£0.64
Race 8:- -£0.27
Race 9:- +£0.03
Race 10:- +£0.09
Race 11:- +£0.10
Race 12:- -£2.66
Race 13:- +£0.09
Race 14:- +£0.02
Race 15:- -£0.10
Race 16:- -£0.10
Race 17:- +£0.10
Race 18:- +£0.07

So total loss was -£4.21

I did learn a few pointers. Even when the odds on a horse are at the top or bottom of the current 'money range', i.e the support or resistance point, sometimes they don't come down, or up, straight away. Sometimes they can drift the other way or stay still for awhile.

Also when using minimum stakes, it is hard to get trades matched quick enough before the odds move. For a few of the races the odds did move in the right direction, but I did not get matched in time before they went back the other way. I guess I need to be more patient and wait for a point were I can get my money near the front of the queue.

Also I think from now on, I will always aim to be out of a trade by 5-6 mins to go to race start, as the markets go made and a couple of the bigger losses were due to this, and me trying to carry out further trades.

But all in all, for a first day I am not too displeased. I spotted some trends well, but others I maybe jumped in to soon or to late.

Practice makes perfect

Happy Trading
