1st test West Indies vs India
1) Ground:- Kingston, Jamaica (Sabina park)
This is a hard pitch, favouring pace and bounce. Should not turn much or keep low. The last 20 test matches on this ground there has only been 3 draws. The last 11 matches have produced no draws.
2) Weather conditions:- chance of ppt on all days is around 30-40%. There is a lot of mositure in the air today.
3) Team News:- The West Indies still have no Gayle as his disputes with the WICB still continue. Chanderpaul returns as does Adrain Barath. Dwayne Bravo is a big miss as he is being rested.
India are without Tendulkar, Sehwag and Gambhir. However, the return of Dhoni, Dravid and Laxman is a boost.
4) H2H on this ground:- They have played 10 times on this ground, with India only winning once, although that was the last encounter here in 2009. There have been 3 draws and 6 West Indies wins.
Conclusion:- West Indies have problems off the pitch and India have a seriously depleted side, and have three test debuts. Even taking that into account India are still clear favourites. I am not sure, West Indies have a decent fast pace attack and India like slower pitches, which thus is not. The problem with the West Indies is, how well can they bat. I actually fancy the West Indies to nick this one. I am going to lay the draw at 3.2 and look to hedge out at about 5.0 for about 25-28% ROI. Stop loss will be 1.5.
Happy trading
UPDATE
India won the toss and elected to bat first. The West Indies got some early wickets and I managed to hedge out at 4.6 for a profit of +£0.90 (27.3% ROI).
I will continue to see how the game swings and trade again.
