1st July 2011 Tennis all the way

Hi folks,

Well I traded the two semi-final matches today.

Murray Vs Nadal - Could Murray finally overcome Nadal. Well, this year I thought Murray was playing the best he has ever played. Also mentally over the last couple of tournaments on grass he has seemed tougher, so I thought he could really trouble Nadal this time, so i decided to lay Nadal at odds of 1.59 for £10. Murray played outstanding tennis in the first set and won the first set and I hedged out for a profit of +£1.15.

Then we all now what happened. Murray was on top at the beginning of the second set and then missed a easy winner to make it 40-15 on Nadal's serve. After that it was game over, mentally he gave up again and lost 7 games in a row and never recovered. It is hard to explain this melt down, but I do agree with Tradeshark's comments on his blog. I know the comments may seem harsh, but he is right, we live in a country that does not encourage kids to have a winning mentality. Read his article, it is harsh, but hammers the point home very well.

Djokovic Vs Tsonga - Tsonga has had a great tournament, but Djokovic is so mentally tough now, he has not played his best so far at Wimbledon but he never gives up. So I laid Tsonga for the beginning at odds of 2.98 for £4. Once Tsonga took the first set I hedged out for a profit of +£1.91

Cricket

England Vs Sri Lanka - This was the second ODI from Leeds. England were 1.57 before the game, which I had to laugh at. Yes they won the first match comprehensively, but that game was reduced to 32 overs and was rain affect. In this game I was fairly confident that Sri Lanka would bounce back, so I laid England from the beginning at 1.57 for £5. Sri Lanka batted first and set a huge score and I hedged out for a profit of +£1.20.

So overall a good day of trading a profit of +£4.26. A good start to July

Happy Trading
