Everton Vs Man Utd

The first Monday night match of the new premiership season pits Everton against Man Utd. Everton are notorious slow starters to the season, but did finish the season strongly, last season.

Everton only lost 1 of their last 10 premiership matches, winning 5, drawing 4 and losing 1. At home Everton have won 7 of the last 10 premiership matches and drawn 1 and lost 2. They scored 19 goals and conceded 5 goals.

Man Utd only lost 2 of their last 10 premiership matches, winning 7, drawing 1 and losing 2. Away from home they won 6 of their last 10 premiership matches and drew 1 and lost 3. They scored 18 goals and conceded 11.

With it being the start of the season predicting matches can be tricky. Everton ended the season very strongly and were very good at home. As for Man Utd; we all know about the end of season drama last season.

Man Utd have signed Van Persie; and his partnership with Rooney sounds mouth-watering. Man Utd also have Welbeck and Hernandez. Last season Man Utd missed Vidic, and at times their defence was all over the place. If Vidic and Van Persie start tonight, I don’t think Everton will win this match. Even taking their end of season form; Everton are poor starters in the league and I can see this trend continuing tonight.

I will back Man Utd from the start and then manage the position in play

  1. Hello Gareth, I would like to know how did you manage your position in play, since Man UTD lost the game.

I'm always particularly interested in strategies when the market goes against us, even more than when everything goes right.

  2. Sorry for the delay in replying. If a game is tight after I have LTD, I will look to scalp the over/under 2.5 goal market, so I got a bit of profit from that. As Everton scored 1st, I then laid Everton waiting for Man Utd to level the score. I only used a half stake when backing Man Utd at the start. That way I give myself options. It didn't work this time but I don't like over comitting early in a match.
