Here are my thoughts for tonight’s matches:-

Blackburn Vs Sheff Wed

The majority of the stats line-up for Blackburn; However, their form in the last 6 matches has not been great, but then the same could be said for Sheffield Wed. Looking at the last 5 matches, home vs. away, Blackburn have won 3 of 5 and the two they lost were against ‘A’ graded teams. Sheffield Wednesday have lost 3 of 5 and drawn 2, and they have played 3 ‘C’ graded sides. The H2H’s are also strongly in Blackburn’s favour. I think I will LTD in this match and set my stop loss at 1.9 for 5pts.

Ajax Vs Man City

The stats here are not conclusive, and there are no H2H’s to compare. The last 6 game stats are slightly in Man City’s favour and Ajax have shipped 8 goals in their last 3 matches. However, Ajax’s home form is not bad and Man City normally do not travel well. However, Ajax got thrashed 4-1 at home to Real Madrid in the last round of matches and previously Man City narrowly lost at Real Madrid with a flurry of late goals. These are two ‘A’ graded teams in their respective leagues, but you could argue that the quality in the premiership is higher than that in the Dutch league and Ajax’s defence could be found wanting. I will LTD in this one and set a stop loss of 1.9 for 5pts.

Arsenal Vs Schalke

Arsenal are not ‘odds-on’ in this match and even though Arsenal’s record at home is very good, the stats don’t look great. So I will leave this one alone

Din. Zagreb Vs PSG

Not as many stats for this match, but the ones I do have tend to support PSG. Din. Zagreb have already lost their first two champions league matches. I will LTD setting a stop loss of 1.9 for 5pts.

Montpellier Vs Olympiakos

Not odds on and Montpellier are not the team they were last season. I will give this match a miss.

FC Porto Vs Din. Kiev

No Major stats for this one. They have played each other two times before, sharing the spoils. Din. Kiev have lost 6 of their last 10 matches and they were thrashed 4-1 by PSG in their last Champions league outing. FC Porto beat PSG 1-0 in the champion’s league this season and have won 8 of the last 10 matches and drew the other 2. I will LTD setting a stop loss of 1.9 for 5pts.

Dortmund Vs Real Madrid

Dortmund have not started the season like champions and they are already 12pts behind Bayern Munich. The majority of the stats support Real Madrid, although Dortmund’s stats at home are good. Dortmund played very well at Man City and should have won, but for the heroics of Joe Hart. The H2H’s, however, do not look good for Dortmund. Dortmund beat Ajax at home this season in the champions league 1-0. However, Real Madrid beat Ajax 4-1 away. I can’t see Real Madrid losing this one. However, the odds are above 2.0, so I will look to back Real Madrid for 2.5pts, if Dortmund score 1^st I will look to hedge and then lay Dortmund for a total loss of 5pts.
