French Open Quarter and Semi-Finals

Hi folks,

Well yesterday's Quarter finals were a bit of a mis-match. I know when the stats and odds suggest no trade, I should stay away, but sometimes I find it hard to say no.

The two women's quarter finals that were played yesterday I managed a huge 1.6pts profit. What on earth was Sharapova doing, getting hammered 6-0 in the first set!!!

The two mens matches were huge mismatches and a huge disappointment. I really though Haas could have pinched a set, but he didn't and I lost 3pts.

The Nadal match, I should not have even traded, but laid Nadal from the start. I lost 2.7pts.

Last night when I analyzed my trades over the last few days, I realized that I have been trading just for the sake of it, putting a trade on when one did not really exist. I need to become more focused and start keeping more detailed notes on matches and stats. I need to concentrate more and to pick fewer trades but good trades.

So today I decided to put this into action, although to be fair there was only two matches on offer. After looking at the stats and current form I decided I would stay well away from the Williams Vs Errani match. It was a David Vs Goliath match, but there was no way David was winning this one, and so it proved as Errani won only 1 game and the whole match was over in 45 minutes. Errani has done really well to get to number 5 in the world, but she just does not have the power to beat Williams.

I did trade the earlier match between the 'grunters'; Sharapova and Azarenka. To be fair I was hoping for more, both players did not play there best tennis at the same time and the match was a little disappointing. Nevertheless I carried out 4 trades during the match, and picked my opportunities at the right time. I made 2.7pts.

I am really looking forward to the mens Semi-final matches tomorrow. We have potentially two mouth watering matches with Djoko up against Nadal and Tsonga up against Ferrer. I don't know much about tennis but I have a little feeling that it may be Tsonga's time and he might just win the trophy!!!
