World Cup Day 2

Hi folks,

Bit pushed for time today, so I will post my thoughts on the first game of the day.

South Korea Vs Greece

Head-2-Head :- 3 Meetings with 2 being drawn and 1 win for South Korea. In all three matches only 3 goals scored. 2 by South Korea and 1 for Greece. So hardly prolific.

Apart from when they won the Euros in 2004, Greece have not won any other of their 12 games on the other occasions they have qualified for the Euro's, World cup and the confederations Cup. Indeed in USA 1994, they conceded 10 goals and scored 0.

South Korea have not drawn any of their last 12 matches.

South Korea - Last 8 matches - W3D1L4 Scored 8, Conceded 7. Score 1gpg and concede 0.87gpg.
South Korea - Last 5 Away Matches - W3D0L2 Scored 6, Conceded 2. Score 1.2gpg concede 0.40gpg

Greece - Last 8 matches - W3D3L2 Scored 11, Conceded 10. Score 1.37gpg, Concede 1.25gpg.
Greece - Last 5 Away Matches - W1D2L2 Scored 3, Conceded 6. Score 0.60gpg, Concede 1.2gpg.

This looks to be a fairly even, tight match with not many goals. Both teams odds are fairly close on betfair. You could lay the draw, as I think it could be 1-0 game. However, could be risky. I think I will trade in the 0-0 and under/over 2.5 goals market early in the game and see how I go. If there is an early goal I will try and trade on the AUQ market to try and minimise losses.

I think Greece might just nick this game 1-0. They are quite dangerous on set pieces, and the South Koreans are not exactly tall. The south Koreans dont have enough fire power up front for me. So 1-0 to Greece.

Bye for now folks

  1. Well it is safe to say that Greece are the poorest team that I have seen so far. However, my strategy worked and I scalped the correct score market and the under/over 2.5 and 3.5 goal markets and won about £33

  2. 2-0 to South Korea with an early goal.

£33 profit is quite nice... what stakes did you used?
