West Ham Vs Liverpool

Hi folks,

West Ham Vs Liverpool

  • Liverpool have won their last 4 premier league games against West Ham, scoring 3 goals in each month.
  • West Ham have lost 13 of their last 16 premier league encounters with the reds.
  • West Ham have kept only one clean sheet in their last 8 premier league home games against Liverpool
  • Raul Meirles has scored in 5 of Liverpool's last 6 games.
  • Liverpool have not won 3 premier league away games in succession since May 2009
Stats:- West Ham (Overall) W5D1L12 Liverpool (Overall) W11D6L0
West Ham (Home) W3D4L6 Liverpool (Away) W3D2L8
Average Goals Scored 1.07 vs 0.92
Average Goals Conceded 1.53 vs 1.61
Clean Sheets 23% vs 30%
Failed to score 23% vs 30%

Comments:- West Ham have been a very good cup team this year, but their league form has been terrible. Liverpool continue to make steady progress under Kenny Daglish. Stats are fairly even and the odds have Liverpool as favourites, but they are not odds on and the odds are not far apart between the two teams. I think Liverpool should edge this game and should be ahead at some point.

Tactics:- Lay the draw at 3.55, stop loss 1.9. If West Ham score first, I will probably be able to hedge out for a small profit or no loss as odds close enough together.
Tight start to the game as both teams don't score lots of early goals, so back 0-0 and ride for 15 mins.

Happy Trading

West Ham 3 Liverpool 1

Well were did that West Ham performance come from!!! I backed the 0-0 for the first 15 mins and hedged for a profit of £1.97. I also layed the draw and when West Ham scored I stayed in as Liverpool looked poor and disjointed. When West Ham scored a 2nd before half time I hedged out for a £3.57 profit.

  1. Any reason why you didn't let the draw lay run when West Ham 2-0 up, Gareth? If Liverpool pull one back, you could still get out with a profit. That's the way I tend to play this kind of situation, anyway.

    Enjoying your blog.

  2. Hi Wagerer. When it went to 1-0 to West Ham, there was virtually no profit to be obtained by hedging out. So when Liverpool got to 2-1 I suspect you would not have made much money, well certainly not as much as when it was 2-0. I just played percentages. Also the other week West Ham were 2-0 up against West Brom and lost 3-2. If a strong team such as Man Utd or Chelsea went 2-0 up I would stay in, but with the poor teams, you never know.
