Wales Vs England

Hi folks.

The first game for today is

Wales Vs England.

Wales are bottom of the group with zero points from the 3 qualifying games. However, this is the first competitive game with Gary Speed in charge. Also it is against the old enemy England, so how much will the current results and form count for.

Anyway Wales have scored only 1 goal in their three qualifying games and have conceded 6. They have kept 0% clean sheets and failed to score in 2/3 of the games. Wales have only played 1 home game and that was against Bulgaria, which they lost 1-0. England on the other hand beat Bulgaria at home 4-0. Wales overall form for the last 8 games is W3D0L5, scoring 11 goals and conceding 10. Their last 5 home games they have W2D0L3, scoring 9 and conceding 6.

England are second in the group and have W2D1L0 of the three qualifying games. They have scored 7 goals and conceded 1. They have kept 2/3 clean sheets and only failed to score in 1/3 games. England's form in the last 8 games has been W5D1L2. They scored 14 and conceded 9. However, they have lost to france in a friendly recently and only managed a 0-0 at home to the group leaders, Montengro. Their recent form has hardly been great. Their last 5 away games have seen 4 wins and 1 loss, scoring 9 goals and conceding 7 in the process.

In terms of head to heads, the last five games between these two teams have yielded 4 England wins and 1 Wales win.

Tactics:- All the stats and indeed the odds suggest an easy win for England, but this is England we are talking about. Also it is a home Derby, and the game is in Cardiff so the atmosphere will be hostile. Also what will the Gary Speed factor do. For once I am going to go against the stats, as I think Wales will have a point to prove. I am going to lay England, as I think this game could be tight earlier on and Wales may even take the lead. I am also going to lay over 2.5 goals.

Happy trading

Wales 0 Vs England 2

Well not the start I was hoping for. England got an early penalty and that was that really. Wales started the second half as I thought they would start the first, and to be fair if they had not given away an early penalty then the game might have been tight. Anyway once England scored and it was clear they were on top I hedged out of 'laying England' for a -£9.66 loss. I laid under 2.5 goals for a further £25 pounds. Then once England scored a second I started to cover my options on the correct score. With some careful trading at the end of the game I managed to make a profit on the correct score/2.5 goals market of £13.50, so I managed to make a profit on the game of £3.84.
