12:30pm St Johnstone Vs Rangers
The early kick-off today in the Scottish SPL is St Johnstone Vs Rangers.  Rangers have only won 1 in the last 3 matches, and at one point earlier in the season they were 15 points clear of Celtic, now they are 2 points behind Celtic. So what does the game have in store for us today? Can St Johnstone keep the pressure on Rangers, or will Rangers role them over and put the pressure back on Celtic. Let’s have a look at some stats.

Overall Form
St Johnstone have played 21 games this season, winning 9, drawing 5 and losing 7. They have scored 26 goals (1.24gpg) and conceded 20 (0.95gpg). They have kept 10 clean sheets and scored in 12 of their matches.
Rangers have played 22 games this season, winning 16, drawing 3 and losing 3. They have scored 40 goals (1.82gpg) and conceded 12 (0.55gpg). They have kept 12 clean sheets and scored in 19 of their matches.

Current Form
St Johnstone have won 3 of their last 6 matches, draw 0 and lost 3. They have scored 8 goals (1.33gpg) and have conceded 8 goals (1.33gpg). They have kept 2 clean sheets and scored in 4 of the last 6 matches.
Rangers have won 4 of their last 6 matches, draw o and lost 2. They have scored 10 goals (1.67gpg) and have conceded 5 goals (0.83gpg). They have kept 2 clean sheets and scored in 5 of the last 6 matches.

Home vs Away Form
St Johnstone have won only 2 of their last 6 home matches, and lost 4. They have scored 6 goals (1gpg) and conceded 9 (1.5gpg). They have only kept one clean sheet and have scored in 3 of their last 6 home matches. 3 of the 6 matches have been under 2.5 goals, including the last two matches.
Rangers have won 3 of their last 6 away matches, and lost 3. They have scored 7 goals (1.17gpg) and conceded 5 (0.83gpg). They have only kept 2 clean sheets and scored in 4 of the 6 matches. 4 of the 6 matches have been under 2.5 goals.

H2H’s
The last 8 league matches have yielded only 1 win for St Johnstone and that was back in 2009/2010 season. Rangers have won 5 out of the last 6 meetings, the other match was a 0-0 draw. The last 4 matches at St Johnstone have produced two games under 2.5 goals and 2 games over 2.5 goals. The last three games between these two teams overall have been under 2.5 goals.

General
I have the success rate for this match as 25%. This equates to a 13% chance of a St Johnstone win, 26% chance of a draw, and a 61% chance of a Rangers win.
The goal expectancy for the game is 2.45
%0 goals being scored is 9%
%Chance of St Johnstone scoring first is 28%
St Johnstone have scored first in 3 of their home games, and have won all them games. Rangers have scored first in 9 of their away games and have won 8 of them.
Rangers have scored first in 9/11 away games and St Johnstone have scored first in 3/11 home games.

Verdict
I can’s see anything other than a Rangers win today. However, they have had a bit of a blip lately, so the game might be tight, the last 5 away games they have averaged 1gpg. So I think I will lay the draw and I might look to back under 2.5 goals and ride that for the first 15-20 minutes of the game

Happy Trading
