Dunfermline Vs Rangers (12pm)
The early Saturday kick-off in the SPL is Dunfermline Vs Rangers, bottom vs 2nd. Rangers are currently 4pts off the top spot and have problems off the pitch as well as on the pitch. They have sold their top scorer to Everton in the January transfer window and got knocked out of the cup to Dundee Utd at the weekend. So is this an away banker? Let’s have a look
Firstly we will have a look at the success rate for both teams and the weight of goals (WOG), home vs away.
Not surprisingly Rangers are superior in every department. How do these figures compare to the average figures for the league. The average Home Success rate is 52%, and the average away success rate is 48%. Dunfermline are well below the home average and Rangers are well above the away average. Now we will examine the goals scored and conceded for each team over the whole season and the last 24, 18, 12 and 6 matches. We will also look at the total goals in each team’s matches, overall and home vs away.
Again no surprise that Rangers are miles ahead.
Next we will look at the number of clean sheets and the number of matches the teams have failed to score in.
As we can see Rangers come out on top again, with more clean sheets and fewer failed to score games.
Now let’s have a look at overall and current form and Home vs Away Form.
The results clearly favour Rangers again.
H2H’S
The H2H’S also favour Rangers with them winning 9 of the last 11 matches. They have also won 5 of the last 6 matches at Dunfermline.
I know Rangers are having problems, but I can’t see them losing this one, so I will be laying the draw in this one. I will also be backing over 2.5 goals as Dunfermline have conceded 3 goals per game in 5 of the last home matches.
As the lay the draw odds were 5.9 at the start, I have only laid the draw with a half-stake. Dunfermline have just scored and the odds went down to 3.65, so I laid the draw again with my second half-stake, thereby allowing me to stay in longer in the second half. We will see how it goes. Not a good start!!!
Well that worked well, Rangers equalised and then took the lead. So won on LTD and over 2.5 goals.

That half stake tactic seems to make some sense... I might try that in some high draw odds.
