Hi Folks,

Well the Championship starts tomorrow night with Blackburn Vs Cardiff and the French ligue starts with Reims Vs PSG. It is always hard to predict the first few matches, but lets give it a go.

I will trying a few rating ideas out this season as well, but only with minimum stakes. I am miles behind with my prep work, but I will try and keep updates as to how they perform.

Anyway lets get to it.

Reims Vs PSG

So Reims finished 11th last season with 48pts and PSG won the league with 89pts. There is a huge gulf in class bewteen these two teams
Reims last 18 matches reads (W5D4L9). They have scored in 12/18 and conceded in 15/18.They have scored 20 goals and conceded 28 goals.
PSG last 18 matches reads  (W13D3L2). They have scored in 17/18 and conceded in 8/18. They have scored 36 goals and conceded 10 goals
Reims last 6 matches reads (W1D1L4). They have scored in 3/6 and conceded in 5/6. They have scored 4 goals and coneded 9 goals.
PSG last 6 matches reads (W3D1L2). They have scored in 5/6 and conceded in 4/6. They have scored 9 goals and conceded 5 goals.
Reims last 12 home matches reads (W5D3L4). They have scored in 10/12 and conceded in 9/12. They have scored 17 goals and conceded 16 goals.
PSG last 12 away matches reads (W7D3L2). They have scored in 10/12 and conceded in 9/12. They have scored 20 goals and conceded 11 goals.
Reims have won 2 of their last 6 home matches, drawing 3 and losing 1.
PSG have won 4 of their last 6 away matches, drawing 1 and losing 1.

In terms of H2H's, they have played each other 4 times with PSG wining 3/4. No draws

On paper there is only one winner here. The odds for LTD do not really offer any value. They are currently 5 and I rate it as 4.0

There is value in laying PSG or backing Reims, but I can't see it. Although it is the first match of the season and PSG have failed to win the first match of the season in the last 3 seasons. But I think they will win this one this time.

The best I can hope for is Reims keeping it tight and LTD around 4.0.

There is no value in laying the HT 0-0 either as the odds are spot on.
