US OPEN 2017 2nd Half

The second half of the US Open draw is wide open, and there must be a few players licking their lips, that they can go deep into the tournament with no Murray and Djokovic.

Sam Querrey has had a good season this season and if things turn out the way I expect them too, we should have a fourth round match with two Americans fighting it out, with Querrey facing Isner. I think Isner will just shade this match to reach the quarterfinal
The player everyone has been talking about this year is Zverev, he is one of the exciting next gen players. He might have a slightly tricky match against Anderson in round 3, but he should come through that match. That might set up a match against another American, Jack Sock. I think Zverev will win this match to set up a match with John Isner.

3rd QF - Isner Vs Zverev

I think Tsonga has a good draw. He may play Almagro in the third round, but I think he will be too strong for Almagro. That for me is his only tricky match if he plays well. I think he will reach the QF.
The final part sees Cilic play. He will have a tricky match against Ferrer, but I think he will come through this to reach the QF.

4th QF - Tsonga Vs Cilic

So for the QF's we have

Nadal Vs Dimitrov
Federer Vs Thiem
Isner Vs Zverev
Tsonga Vs Clic

I think the Nadal vs Dimitrov match could be very good, if Dimitrov brings his 'A' game, but I think because of his intensity and aggression, Nadal will take this
Federer Vs Thiem will be interesting. Old gen vs New Gen. But I think the old Gen, still has too much for Thiem.
Isner Vs Zverev will be interesting as the crowd will be behind Isner. However, I think Zverev is looking very good and will win this.
As for the final match, I think this will be a good match and could go the distance. However, I think Cilic will take this.

So the Semi-Finals

Nadal Vs Federer - I think this will be a classic, but I think on hard courts Federer will just shade it
Zverev Vs Cilic - Both players are in good form this season, but I think, barring nerves Zverev will book his place in his first grand slam final

The Final

Federer Vs Zverev

Again Old Gen vs New Gen. This could be a cracker. However, for me, the changing of the guard is not just yet. Federer has had a brilliant season and will round it off with 3/4 of the slams. Who would of thought that at the beginning of the season.
